About Us

Our Beginnings & Journey:

Green Dragonfly Web Design has been in its creation and foundation for about twelve years, when my husband, Kevin, was just learning the ever-evolving art of web design. He started learning HTML from the (now defunct) Interface College of Web Design in 2001. In 2006, when we were first married, we taught various subjects at the same small parish school nestled in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho. It was here where Kevin worked on his first freelance website, and thought of the idea of starting our own business someday.

Several years, and three children later, we moved to south-central, Oklahoma — to unknown and uncharted territory — to us — to follow up on a job opportunity with the Chickasaw Nation, of which I am a tribal member. It was here, working for the Tribe, that my sweet hubby was able to hone his skills, build and manage a team, and learn the art of succeeding in the web design/development industry on a fairly large scale. Kevin was able to not only build the Nation’s web development and UX/UI Content Strategist team, but also work for, and maintain, other companies’ and organizations’ websites as well.

The Idea Finally Becomes a Reality:

Although family circumstances required us to move back to the Northwest by the close of 2015, the next two years found us wanting to branch out on our own, but were afraid of the risks. Eventually, by the end of 2017, we decided, enough was enough. We still wanted to start our own business, the boys had grown, and I wanted to hone my own skills to be able to contribute.

So here we are: still honing our skills, and learning — every day — from our strengths, weaknesses, and mistakes. Needless to say, we make a pretty good team, and want the best for our business, clients, family, and each other.

Green Dragonfly has taken a lot of time, thought, and an ever-growing faith in God and one another. We have considered it appropriate that it’s name represents an element of versatility, a sense of renewal, and a Native American significance. It is our hope that you will find our business as rewarding and fulfilling as we have.
